Storytelling and The fight for what's right
After taking the beginning journalism elective in my freshman year and joining the school's award winning publication in my sophomore year, I stepped up taking the role of Assistant Editor-in-Chief (AEIC) of Workflow in my junior year and still am to this day. Journalism writing is one of my favorite types, as it allows me to express my creativity while making a community impact through the spread of information. My first year on staff was also the first year our publication went digital, transitioning from a successful newspaper publication beginning in the 1970s was not a smooth ride. Even though we didn't have to format the paper, online newspaper awards require consistently posting 3-4+ quality stories per day, and my main role as AEIC (outside of editing) was to manage deadlines and manage backends of posting in order to ensure we have enough stories a day. This role has also taken me to meet people such as Heimler's History and Flipping Physics, which have been received greatly among the school body, who watch their videos on a daily basis.
